'cause i ain't gonna live forever

holller!

so i'm guessing maybe somebody noticed that i have not blogged since janurary (anybody?? no? bueller?). that's about a six week break, and that seems like a pretty good break to me. i had to get my head out of the game for a bit. to (briefly) explain, i felt like my expectations of this blog were turning into something other than the original intent. this is not my personal style blog and i don't want it to be. i want to share fashion news, shopping tips, my style, your styles, and the cool chick down the street's style. basically, i want to make fashion accessible to everyone and it's hard to go about doing that when i just take pictures of what i wear all the time. not to mention the pressure to take "good pictures" and have a "good camera" and have the time to put together a "good outfit" before work every morning. it's cool that people do that (and obvi i read that stuff everyday), but it just ain't me. ya heard?? i'll also be sharing what music i'm into, craft projects, and fun events in the city. i dunno, we'll all just have to wait and see how it turns out. i hope you all can digg that!

hey! i've been noting all these great new blogs i've found (like, i write them down on all these little scraps of paper and then tape them in my notebook) and i finally added all (most?) of them to my blogroll. check them out. these are just four of like 12 i just added. they are all cool and funny and inspirational and beautiful in their own right. there are a lot of local 415/510 bloggers on there too, gotta represent wut wuutt.


also, i think i'm not into the original font i chose. so i am switching it, let's see how we like it in a little bit. and i gave up on the 3 column dealie...it was so not doing it for me. and i'm also thinking about changing my banner. any designers out there want to lend a hand?? another change: out with the old (boring) title posts. i'm trying to choose a song lyric or something that fits the post sentiment. all in all, i'm looking to spruce things up here at siggie stylez. any suggestions while i am at it??

NaMoPloBlo...mo?

wait wait no it's Na-Blo-Po-Mo. as in, national blog posting month. i learned about this from the lovely julia and i think it is a great personal goal to set. and quite timely given that it feels like forevs since i've posted even though it's been A DAY. (granted yesterday was the longest day of all time.) 

so the deal is that i post every day and you read every day. and for shits n' giggs let's throw in another part of the deal: try and tell one person about this blog. and they will tell one person and they will tell one person and they will tell one person and then it will be great! i'll hop on that bandwagon too and tell one person everyday about my blog (hello, self-promotion) aaaaaand if the traffic to this site jumps significantly i will offer a give-away at the end of the month! if that's not incentive for all parties then i don't know what is!

the new 'do

 for those that know me this will come as no surprise: yesterday completely overhauled my hair. i went from strawberry blonde to dark brown in the course of an hour and a half. i don't know what inspired this change but i love it! i feel like a different person. my hairdresser is SO fantastic, he makes every color look like my “natural color” (whatever that means anymore). i love how instantly the dark brown changed my complexion completely! my eyes all of a sudden pop with green! my co-worker said i looked super tan! my skin tone looks much more even! it’s such an amazing and fun transformation…maybe that’s why i do something like this 4 times a year.

so…what do you think? i love to hear people’s reactions to things like this, and don’t worry I won’t be offended if you like other colors better. i’m pretty used to that too.

also, socks with open-toed heels? totes digging it! are you?

oops... my b!

so, oops there was a little bit of a hiatus in there but i swear i have really good excuses (some of which are fashion related). but i missed this style outlet, so don't think a month away means i'm calling it quits!

first, i went to europe with the boyfriend for two weeks. we went to amsterdam(for nine hours), florence, santa margharita ligure, and paris. it was fantastic:

then i got back and went to some very special friends' wedding. SO much fun...best friends and dance parties all around:

then i got the flu. i was flat out on the couch for three days. no picture necessary.

as you can see, i've been kinda busy. meanwhile....new york fashion week happened! we have lots to catch up on, and i plan on covering it all, so please keep your hands and feet inside the vehicle at all times and remain seated until we come to a complete stop.

today is the day

i decided to start a blog! after months and months of reading the coolest blogs and getting inspired by the coolest girls, i decided to start my own ever-evolving inspiration board, discussion forum, wish list, outfit log, etc. please, bear with me as i learn the ropes and get signature styles into full swing!
